Update of standardized CPUE of Pacific saury (Cololabis saira) caught by the Japanese stick-held dip net fishery during 1994 to 2017

We updated the standardized catch-per-unit-effort (CPUE) of Japanese stick-held dip net fishery for Pacific saury during 1994-2017. CPUE was modeled with generalized linear model (GLM) or generalized additive model (GAM) where factors such as year, month, fishing area vessel size and sea surface temperature were incorporated as explanatory variables. The standardized CPUE for the terminal year from the selected models from the GLM and GAM analyses were the third and second lowest since 1994, respectively. Finally, we employed the standardized CPUE derived from the GLM selected model as input data for the stock assessment.
