ANCORS has submitted an observer paper evaluating the unregulated nature of the global squid fisheries using AIS data and nighttime imagery of the of the globalized fleet of light-luring squid vessels. The paper highlights the increase in squid fisheries globally, especially in unregulated areas, and underscores the need to improve fisheries governance for these
fisheries.
