2023 Fisheries Overview

This document presents a summary of fishing catch and effort in the NPFC Convention Area and National Waters for all NPFC species, for 2023, along with comparative data for the period back to 2018. Data for this report is drawn from Members’ annual reports as well as information from the NPFC Vessel Registry.

The contents of this report are drawn from information contained in Member/CNCP annual report submissions for the period 2018-2023, as well as the contents of the NPFC Vessel Registry for the same period.

Several Members have identified a series of inaccuracies with the data as presented and the Secretariat will work together with Members to reconcile the data and prepare a more accurate report for the submission to the next annual meeting.

Recognizing these issues, this overview report is presented for informational purposes, but it is not a reliable source of data.
